A unos días de concluida nuestra VI Reunión binacional, nowhįį, la Nación N’dee N’nee Ndé nos pronunciamos:
Primero y antes que nada para agradecer por una reunión más de nosotros, la gente. Gracias a todas y todos los que viajaron desde todos los confines de la tierra N’dee N’nee Ndé y del mundo para acompañarnos.
Nuestra reunión no hubiera sido posible sin nuestros anfitriones: los casagrandenses, representados por su presidente municipal Roberto Lucero Galaz, quien a través de la Dirección de Cultura que preside Flor Gómez Domínguez, gestionó recibirnos en su “casa grande” y sentaron el precedente de ser el primer gobierno municipal que, de la mano con su sociedad civil, tiene la total apertura para recibirnos en una localidad histórica para nosotros los N’dee N’nee Ndé. Y por primera vez visibilizarnos como pueblo originario en el Centro Cultural de Casas Grandes, inaugurado como parte de nuestras celebraciones.
Nuestro encuentro viene enmarcado en un esfuerzo jurídico y fáctico por la inclusión de nuestra nación como pueblo originario en el Catálogo Nacional de Pueblos Indígenas del Instituto Nacional de Pueblos Indígenas (INPI), que incluye el respeto y reconocimiento de nuestros territorios ancestrales, así como el cumplimiento legal de tratados internacionales en favor de nuestros propósitos, con el firme apoyo del equipo humano del Instituto Federal de la Defensoría Pública.
En ese sentido, la revitalización de nuestra lengua y sus tres variantes ha sido crucial y durante nuestra VI Reunión binacional, dimos un paso adelante en esta materia, pues presenciamos el histórico momento de la presentación y validación del alfabeto de la lengua de la gente: “Bíí ik’e’da’iilchíí ndé miizaa / n’nee biyati / ndé bizaa’, que realizamos como parte del Consejo de Planificación Lingüística Comunitaria de la lengua N’dee/N’nee/Ndé, con la asesoría y el acompañamiento del Instituto Nacional de Lenguas Indígenas (INALI) y gracias al continuo soporte y consultoría que recibimos del San Carlos Apache Tribe Language Preservation Program (Programa de preservación del lenguaje de la Tribu Apache de San Carlos Arizona).
Con base y de acuerdo en el artículo 36 de la Declaración de las Naciones Unidas sobre los derechos de los pueblos indígenas, logramos que el gobierno mexicano concediera paso libre a las hermanas y hermanos que nos acompañaron de los Estados Unidos, miembros de la Jicarilla Apache Nation de Nuevo México y de la San Carlos Apache Tribe de Arizona, quienes regresaron a sus tierras invernales y de comercio ancestrales a compartirnos un mensaje de unidad, hermandad y fortaleza para continuar andando este camino de paz, belleza y balance.
Gracias a todos los conferencistas que participaron en nuestra reunión, por poner su palabra y contribuir a la reconstrucción de nuestra historia: Alma Orozco Quezada, Lic. José Alberto Domínguez, Dr. Felipe Stover, Manuel Rojas, maestro Horacio Chávez. Gracias también a Elías Ramos de Expediciones Paquimé y a la Asociación Manos del Arte dirigida por Betty Ávalos, por sus regalos, atenciones y cariño durante nuestra estadía. Nos hicieron sentir literalmente en casa.

A few days after our VI Binational Meeting has concluded, nowhįį, we, the Ndee N’nee Ndé Nation, make the following statement:
First and foremost, we want to express our gratitude for another gathering among our people. Thank you to all who traveled from all corners of the Ndee N’nee Ndé land and the world to be with us.
Our meeting would not have been possible without our hosts: the people of Casas Grandes, represented by their municipal president Roberto Lucero Galaz, who, through the Cultural Department led by Flor Gómez Domínguez, made it possible to welcome us in their “casa grande” (big house) and set the precedent of being the first municipal government that, hand in hand with its civil society, fully opened its doors to us in a historic location for us, the Ndee N’nee Nde. For the first time, we were also visible as an indigenous people in the Cultural Center of Casas Grandes, inaugurated as part of our celebrations.
Our gathering is framed within a legal and factual effort to include our nation as an indigenous people in the National Catalog of Indigenous Peoples of the National Institute of Indigenous Peoples (INPI). This includes the respect and recognition of our ancestral territories, as well as the legal fulfillment of international treaties in support of our purposes, with the strong support of the team at the Federal Institute of Public Defense.
In this regard, the revitalization of our language and its three variants has been crucial. During our VI Binational Meeting, we took a step forward in this matter, witnessing the historic moment of presenting and validating the alphabet of our people’s language: “Bíí ik’e’da’iilchíí ndé miizaa / n’nee biyati / ndé bizaa’, which we carried out as part of the Community Language Planning Council of the N’dee N’nee Ndé language, with the advice and support of the National Institute of Indigenous Languages (INALI) and thanks to the continuous support and consultancy received from the San Carlos Apache Tribe Language Preservation Program (Program for the preservation of the language of the San Carlos Apache Tribe from Arizona).
Based on and in accordance with Article 36 of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, we succeeded in obtaining unrestricted passage for our sisters and brothers who accompanied us from the United States, members of the Jicarilla Apache Nation from New Mexico and the San Carlos Apache Tribe from Arizona. They returned to their ancestral winter and trading lands to share a message of unity, fraternity, and strength, encouraging us to continue walking this path of peace, beauty, and balance.
We extend our gratitude to all the speakers who participated in our meeting, for sharing their words and contributing to the reconstruction of our history: Alma Orozco Quezada, Lic. José Alberto Domínguez, Dr. Felipe Stover, Manuel Rojas, and maestro Horacio Chávez. We also want to thank Elías Ramos from Expediciones Paquimé and the Manos del Arte Association directed by Betty Ávalos, for their gifts, attention, and affection during our stay. They truly made us feel at home.
